What is ISO 50001?
ISO 50001 is a newly developed international standard for an energy management system (EnMS). ISO 50001:2011 (the first and current version) provides a framework for establishing energy management best practice to help organisations to improve their energy efficiency in a logical, controlled and systematic way.
ISO 50001 has been structured to align with other popular industry management system standards such as those for quality, health & safety and environmental management. Organisations can thus, if appropriate, integrate an energy management system (EnMS) with their existing management system(s).
The benefits of ISO50001 certification
